Hotel – borgo di gello
The Novanta hotel is nestled amongst the trees, high on the hills of the Gello valley. From here, you can see everything: from the river at its feet to the mountain tops of La Verna. Scattered between the ancient ruins, the terraced gardens, and the winding paths, you will discover three main buildings, each with its own honesty bar and selection of hotel rooms.
Our dedicated in-house team has been tirelessly working to rebuild and maintain the village of Borgo di Gello. With passion and skill, they have transformed this once-abandoned gem into a stunning retreat. From restoring ancient stone walls to creating beautiful terraced gardens, every detail reflects their craftsmanship and love for this place. Their hard work ensures that every guest experiences the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort.
The huge, thick original stone walls create spacious, airy, and cool spaces in summer, and keep things lovely and cozy in winter. With a central pool, various dining areas, and numerous hidden hangouts, the village of Borgo di Gello has everything you need for a week of relaxation and discovery all rolled into one.
Rooms
At Novanta we have a room to suit every size of family, from studios to sleep just one or two, up to large suites for four or five guests. All of our bedrooms have been maintained in the traditional Tuscan agriturismo style with stone walls and terracotta floors – with a little bit of eclectic Novanta design thrown in for good measure! Our rooms have been decorated with furniture from local antique stores and custom art pieces by local and international artists.

Foodplan
At Novanta we see food as a connector to people and to nature! By teaming up with local producers, we serve up delicious, high-quality meals straight from the land. Our restaurant is always open when our hotel doors are, so you can relax and let us do the cooking!
Our food plan covers a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, so you don’t have to lift a finger. Coffee, tea, sparkling and still tap water are free at all times – and you can even pick your own mint leaves from our herb garden for a refreshing organic mint tea!
Heads up: the food plan is mandatory but not included in the room price. We’ll add it just before your stay. If you feel like exploring the area and dining in one of the local restaurants one day – no worries! We will simply reimburse you.

We see food as a connector to people and to nature. By collaborating with local producers we can offer you high quality food, coming straight from the land. Inspired by “cucina povera,” our menu focuses on simple, rustic dishes that highlight the flavors of local, seasonal produce.
Honesty bar
At Novanta – its all about helping yourself! We think it’s really great when you make yourself at home in our village – and that means taking your own beer from the fridge! The bar is fully stocked with fantastic local wines, beer and soft drinks. Simply note down what you take and don't think about the bill until the end of the week!
River
Want to go for a different kind of swim? Head downhill for a refreshing dip in the crisp river waters, perfect for a nature splash. Find your tranquil spot, go on adventures, build dams or just take time to listen to the sound of water going by.
Pool
Our hotel boasts a stunning 20-meter-long pool with incredible views over the valley. In the early morning, adults can peacefully. swim lanes, while throughout the day everyone can enjoy relaxing time with a drinks in hand. Looking to chill, exercise, or socialize, our pool is the perfect spot.
Car free village
We offer free parking at the entrance of the village, ensuring a peaceful, car-free environment within. Our 4x4 Defenders are on hand to take you and your luggage to your rooms, letting you relax and enjoy the charm of Novanta without any hassle.
