Castello di Gello is a wonderful sleepy borgo set in the hills just below the Novanta hotel. More than 1000 years old already, the houses are steeped in history and boasts hints to it’s vibrant past everywhere you look.
We currently have fully refurbished and equipped two 3 bedroom holiday homes and one 2 bedroom holiday home with their own private gardens and glorious views of the mountains above and the valley below.

Important things to know
Completely surrounded by nature you are still always in eye-sight of the hotel. The walk to the hotel’s pool can take between 15 minutes and 1.5 hour, depending on whether you are speed walking or taking your time foraging blackberries on your way up, whether you are enjoying the views or being a person on a mission. Whatever time it takes you the reward is the beautiful 20mt pool and a fully stocked drink fridge.
Castello di Gello was the major addition to the Novanta property in 2019. We acquired 275 hectares of land, including 7 out of 10 houses in the village and 2 large ruins hidden in the forest of the Gello Valley. Along with these properties, we gained an incredible natural bonus: the diverse wildlife that calls this valley home. From horses, cows, and deer to wild boar and the elusive wolves, these wild animals share our love for this historical place.
Valley tips:
Whilst our water’s incredible properties are great for your skin and hair making it as soft as it can be, coming from a well it does have a bit of sulfur. Don’t worry though, it is still drinkable, but it might not be to everyones liking. We will provide you with a couple of bottles of water for your first days, just remember to get more when you go to town for groceries!

Our veggie garden, lovingly tended by our incredible helper Tomi, is bursting with fresh seasonal produce. You are welcome to pick and enjoy whatever is ready for harvest and dive into a true farm-to-table experience.
